Question Hi Paul,
My husband recently aquired this rifle, and we are trying to find info about it. It may need parts, such as a firing pin. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Answer Haenal produced many rifles and shotguns from about 1925-1940. Some are gorgeous! Elaborately engraved, etc. They also made Schuetzen rifles (target rifles) one of which I have listed on Gunbroker.com. They made a Mauser Mannlicher sporting rifle, and a 88 Mauser sporter. Value is $450-550. if it is in decent shooting condition (no engraving, etc.). Parts will be a problem though my guess is that Mauser firing pins will work as most likely Haenal bought Mauser receivers "in the white" and finished them.If it is in a available caliber value is increased, it's only people like me usually who go ga-gah over guns for which you couldn't buy ammo for the last 100 years!
