Question what is the different between the Russian model 44 and the model 38 carbine
Answer Essentially no difference. Same size and weight I believe, same caliber, but the 44 has a side folding bayonet the 38 doesn't. Worth about the same money. A bargain really for a rifle = to a .30/06. However if you were getting one to sporterize or hunt with "as is" the bayonet is unecessary weight...unless you sneak close enough to run the animal through! Thanks.
