Subject: Political issues!

Question
Hello.   I am a student at a music college and part of my course is to do a presentation on a album from 1980-2000. I have chosen to do discuss Guns N' Roses: Appetite For Destruction. A point that I must discuss in my presentation is the political issues that would of affected the songs on the album. However, I am struggling to find any information on political issues. Do you know of any and if so how and on what songs to do these issues apply?   Miles

Answer
Hi Miles:

The album reflect the band's reaction to the debauchery of the L.A. rock and roll underground for example "Welcome to the Jungle" which Axl wrote  while in Seattle about an incident in New York City.
There are other songs as "Out Ta Get Me", "Sweet Child o' Mine", "Think About You", "My Michelle", "You're Crazy", and "Rocket Queen" based on  their  female companions.

Thats the only info that i have...
If you have more questions just ask me again
Take care
Wendy
