Your question is interesting, but as a fan I know what you know about it. All the stuff in the press that it's been told years ago about the whole thing. Axl said in an interview in 92 that both of them, he and Erin hurted each other, also said that the kids inside them got along. Now just God knows what really happened in those relationships, we already know their version (Erin's and Stephanie's), their side of the story. And in my personal opinion Axl has been a gentleman for not talking about it, nobody's perfect, We can not jugde. If Axl has/had a bad behavior or do/did something wrong, he has/had a reason.
But one thing that I'm really 100% sure is that Axl really care about each of them at the time, in each relationship.
