Gymnastics - Coach to Gymnast Ratio

Expert: Mark Williams - 10/20/2009

Question
What is an acceptable coach to gymnast ratio during training hours for Level 2 through 10 gymnasts?

Answer
Kristi-

There is no hard and fast answer to that. At the lower levels you can probably have more gymnasts in a class, set up a lot of stations and rotate everyone through and be productive. You might have as many as 12 to 1. As you get older, if you plan on being more productive with the athletes that you have, you would more likely have less gymnasts to coach. Maybe 6 to 1.
