Gymnastics - backflip

Question
i am 15 years old and want to learn how to do a backflip. i have been wanting to execute this move for more than 10 months and i i think  i know all the technique to this move. i can do it alone by holding 2 poles for support but when doing on ground with a spotter i am really scared. please help me on how to get over this fear and tell me if i will ever to be able to do a backflip. please help.

Answer
Aman,

The first thing I would recommend, is to try and get on a trampoline or a tumbletrak. This will allow you to do the skill far more easily and with less fear, so you can concentrate on the proper technique. If you don't have access to those, try standing on a vaulting springboard while your spotter helps you.

Unfortunately, I don't think holding onto 2 poles will be very effective since you have to do the skill in a completely different manner with the poles than you would from a trampoline or a stand.

Best of Luck,

Dean Dryer
