Gymnastics - Where to purchase a door mounted bar
Expert: Rik Feeney - 11/2/2009
Question I would like to purchase a door-mounted bar for my 5 year old to practice bar skills (e.g. pullovers). I have seen these bars in YouTube videos such as this one:
http://video.google.com/videosearch?hl=en&source=hp&q=5%20year%20old%20performin...
The bar is mounted at mid-door height. I was wondering if these are simply a chin-up bar mounted lower, or is it something different all together? Also, do you know where I can buy one?
Many thanks!
Answer Hi Mia,
I believe the "door" bar pictured in the YouTube video is one you can get at most sporting goods or athletic supply stores.
I am not aware of a bar like that being sold by gymnastics manufacturers, but if there is such a thing, Ben Edkins of Carolina Gym Supply (877-496-7883) would be the person to talk to.
Regards,
Coach Rik
