Gymnastics - sore knees

Expert: Robert Davis - 6/21/2009

Question
Five or six hours after a competition my knees were sore and I don't know any stretches to fix it. I don't know if I did something during the meet or if it's normal. So what I'm trying to ask is do you have any good stretches for knees?

Answer
Hi Haley,
You may have slightly over extended your knees at some point during the competition but didn't notice until later when the excitement wore off.  If that is the case I would suggest taking it easy for a few days, and if they hurt you can put some healing paste on them (see http://www.goodfeelingplace.com/turmeric-and-salt-for-a-strained-ankle/ for details about that), which will help them feel better.
Regards,
Robert
