I am an ex competitive gymnast, coach and judge of some forty years experience in gymnastics. Now 68 y.o.a. I have trigger finger in three of my fingers. One was corrected surgically very successfully and I shall probably do the same for the other two. This problem has emerged in the last few years and I would be interested to know of its prevalence amongst gymnasts past and present. There does not seem to be much specific research in this field. Intuitively it seems reasonable to expect a higher prevalence of this problem amongst both male and female gymnasts. Just by the way I always wore grips when working on H bar and rings but still wound up with heavily calloused hands.
