Question
Hello, Anjana S.

Could multiple classes slow down the loading time of a page?

Thank you

PS: I have a website with many classes because each component is different from each other.

Answer
Hi Jake,

Obviously it slows down the page load time if you use so much of classes. But with regard to these days processing power in a CPU (web servers), we can't see a big delay in page load because of too many classes.

But my advice is, make it short and sweet. If you really need to use many classes, then go ahead and use it. Try replacing long css syntaxes from shorthand css. Hope you know what short hand CSS means.

For an example, long version of css include,

border-style : dotted:
border-width : 1px;
border-color : #FF0000;

Instead of above 3 lines , you can use the css short hand property to reduce the number of rows. Here's how it looks after applying short hand property.

border : 1px solid #FF0000;

Regards,
Anjana
