Question
hi....sir/madam.....i'm 20 yrs old and have oily scalp also i'm suffering from dandruff problem i want to know whether daily shampooing is harmful or not ????, and how much hair loss is normal if one has dandruff problem???...i usually shampoo daily coz i've oily scalp, but i've heard that daily shampooing washes off natural oils , is it true ????

Answer
Andy,
Daily shampooing with a dandruff shampoo is not harmful especially if you have an oily scalp. I recommend daily shampooing with 1% zinc pyrithione shampoo - such as Head and Shoulders for oily hair and Neutrogena Daily Control Shampoo. 50 to 100 hairs are normally lost daily with most all of them growing back in a new life cycle that lasts about 5 years.
