Answer Hi Amy: Long-lasting excessive shedding in a diffused pattern is often an indication of chronic telogen effluvium. There are so many possible causes for this type of hair loss, that it is often difficult to pinpoint the exact cause. Essential oil scalp massage treatments may provide tremendous relief for your itchy, oily scalp. Any scalp disorder can contribute to hair loss, as a healthy scalp is the foundation for healthy growing hair. Essential oils help get the scalp in the best condition possible by regulating sebum production and thoroughly cleansing the scalp from any bacteria, fungus, debris, product build-up, pollutants etc. They also help to stimulate new growth and improve quality of existing hair by providing nourishment and energy to the follicles through an increase in blood circulation and oxygen to the scalp.
