AnswerThere is no difference in most young men. As a man matures the hairline recedes normally. This can be called a mature hairline- it recedes slightly as your mature. If the recession is greater than most other men the same age then many would refer to it as a receding hairline. It is extremely rare for a man to have the same hairline at 40 that he had at 20. A receding hairline implies there is a bit more loss than what would be called a mature hairline for any particular age. Both are descriptions of normal hair loss without having to use the word baldness.
