Question I recently went to my doctor and received a prescription for Propecia the first day i took i felt a weird feeling in my groind, I took another pill the next day and it became even worse. I stopped taking Propecia and after a day or two the pain went away, so obviously I can't continue the use of Propecia. Is there anything else out there that you can reccomend besides using minoxidil, which I am currently using. I am 22 years old and have been losing hair rapidly over the past 8-9 months both receeding and thinning. Is there anything else I take which is similar to Propecia?
Answer Before stopping the Propecia altogether try taking half a pill every other day and then half a pill every day. You may find that you will adapt to the Propecia and can tolerate it will slow increases. Most of the side effects which have been reported in the first two months went away with continued use. There is nothing else available which will work. There are many over the counter products which claim to work but have not been proven to do so in scientific studies.
