Question
Over the last six-nine months I noticed my hair is severely thinning.  You noted in a response that going on/off birth control pills can cause hair loss.  Since I went off birth control pills approximately one year I ago I think that may be the problem.  Is there anything I can do to stop the hair loss?  I am totally freaked out.

Answer
You may want to ask your doctor if you can get your hormones checked-- Serum DHEAS, Serum Testosterone, maybe prolactin and LH if the doctor seems it necessary based on the history. The results of these tests will determine whether it might be necessary for you to take spironolactone or start the pill again.
