Over the last 8 weeks I have noticed hair loss. It appeared when I was getting my hair done. I thought because I was having my hair bleached  and the various hair products were the cause. But I noticed that while I was cutting back on the hair products, I was still losing hair. That hadn't happened before even though I've been having my hair lightened and highlighted for over 4 years.



I started thinking about my meds that I've been taking and thought about Vytorin. Other stain drugs bothered me immediately (3 to 4 weeks) while I've been on Vytorin about 1 year. It seems that the anniversary of starting this drug coincides with the hair loss.



I am a 59 year old woman who up until 2 months ago had healthy hair.

I would like to know how many other women have experinced this problem.

Sorry to tell you but Crestor DOES cause hair loss. I have been on it a year and will be stopping after first getting with a doctor. I have lost about 50% of my hair and now have small bald patches. Only change in my life or medications during this time. When the hair falls out, there is no root on it.



Research on Crestor also states it is a side effect but they are downplaying it.  Ultimately, it is your body chemistry combined with any specific medication.
