Question
I'm 24 years old,I had my hair highlighted 6 weeks ago the hair dresser left the colour on for about 3 hours.Since then iv been loseing a lot of hair.Could the colour be causing my hair to fall out?Iv had blood test done they came back fine. What can i do to stop the hair loss please help Thank you

Answer
The loss seen after this kind of injury to the hairs is due to weakening if the shaft a short way above the skin.
If you examine your hair which falls out you will find there is no white bulb but instead it is a broken shaft. They will all grow back but brushing and combing will add trauma to the shafts which will cause the weak spots on the hairs to break. Use conditionsers and combs or brushes with wide teeth.- do not pull on the hair.
