Hairstyling - Goldwell

Question
Hi, I use Goldwell Topchic 5NN, I was wonder whether I have to use the topchic developer (20 Volume) or whether a generic brand is ok, ie. is there anything special about the topchic developer? is it just 6% peroxide and will any brand do?

Answer
Hiya Natalie,

In general, Developer is developer. What changes is the viscosity. Some are cream or gel-like and others are more like water. The developer designed to go with the Goldwell color is designed to create a very specific density and viscosity, thereby giving you the application control you need.

That being said, you can probably use any developer. The best thing to do though, is to follow manufacturer's instructions. If something goes wrong, Goldwell will not guarantee the product or outcome if you did not follow their instructions. In my opinion, getting predictable results is worth the trouble of getting the developer you need.
