Question QUESTION: I recently (6 days ago) had a stylist foil highlight my hair. I have medium brown hair naturally. The highlights look wonderful, but my unhighlighted (different stylist highlighted before)roots are now orange. I called the lady and she suggested a purple shampoo to get rid of the rust color, but I've let the shampoo sit time after time and there's no change. Please advise on my options. Thank you!!!
ANSWER: Who ever told you shimmer lights would solve this problem should hand in their license.
Go to a beauty supply and purchase a level 5 ash tint. Mix with equal amount of 10 vol peroxide.
Carefully apply to orange roots. Leave on for 20 minutes no shorter.
Rinse and shampoo with fast water so the ends get as little as possible on them.
Condition.

QUESTION: Thanks Don! Kind of had a feeling the purple shampoo thing wasn't going to work. I'm going to do what you suggested, but I'll admit I'm nervous! However, if you would be willing to specifically describe what I am purchasing I'd be most appreciative.
For example, is it a powder, cream, solution?
Permanent, semi?
Thanks again!
