Hairstyling - Roots are lighter than my ends
Expert: Hairman - 10/28/2009
Question In the past I would always get highlights and/or low lights, never all one color. I recently decided to go back to my natural hair color which is about medium brown. When I left the salon I liked my new hair color, but now that I am home I can tell my roots are lighter than my ends with a subtle reddish/orange color. Do I need to go back to my hair stylist to fix this or will my roots fade and eventually blend with the rest of my hair? Why did this happen?
Answer Erica,
If the new growth area is already lighter than the rest, it won't fade to match the rest. It would then be even lighter, unless the ends fade more.
You do need to return to the salon to have them fix this. It's not a difficult thing. The new growth just needs to be deepened slightly, but you don't need to try it yourself. You paid them for a proper job.
Best of luck to you.
