Question I have a natural level 5 hair color. When we lived in Nebraska, I had a colorist that used Italy hair Fashion and my color was fantastic! My natural brown with beige/baby blonde highlights! Since moving to Arizona, they only know how to use bleach here! I went in for highlights and ended up with a little of my natural color, some bright yellow, light yellow, a few pieces of white, and a very strange copper color! I believe the copper is because the assistant took FOREVER to get the foils out of my hair and then even longer to get the water the right temp to wash my hair all while the bleach sat on my unbleached hair! I have very dark brown eyes with a red skin tone. The yellow and copper is not flattering at all! The colorist that did my hair does not want to do anything else with it, she feels it looks fine and that it will just take time to get used to it!! I have gone to another salon and they strand tested a neutral level 10 brown, that did nothing and a violet that turned it a peach color! What color of toner should I have them try that would compliment my dark eyes and pink/red skin tone? Thanks so much! Jennifer
Answer Jen,
While there is no arguing the high quality and result if Italy colour, in this case it's amatter of the carpenter and not the tools. Each person works differently no matter what they use and your observations about the new stylist are probably very accurate. And the fact that they are unwilling to make you happy shows that they only know one way of working, and that's poorly.
For a toner I'd suggest again, a beige blonde. HOwever, I'd suggest that you have this done at another salon. GOing online to Italy HAirfashion's site I found that the distributor for Arizona is Salon Solutions in Yuma, 520-819-0120. If you call them they should be able to put you in touch with salons near you that use Italy colour and you can even ask what salons have taken product training or what salons they think are better with colour.
Best of luck to you.
