Question Hi there, I coloured, i should say bleached my hair at home last night with Loreal Dream Blonde Bleaching Kit 100. My hair has some professional highlights (over 6 mnths old) and is an ashy dark blonde naturally. My hair is now more of a orange colour- not terrible but very brassy, reminds me of when I used sun in as a kid.
My hair does not feel too dry/brittle. Should I just go see a colourist and get it corrected? Will it have to be darkened?
What would you suggest?
Many Thanks
kate
Answer Kate,
What I would suggest would depend on the desired result. If you still want to be blonde, they will have to finish lightening it for you. Be aware however, that the original highlights will then be dry and probably brittle, since they already started out blonde. If you go darker, you probably won;t be happy, since you're used to seeing blonde in your hair. In this case, what you would want to have done is new highlights foiled in and the rest darkened closer to your natural colour. Either way your original highlights will probably be somewhat damaged, since there is no way to isolate them and protect them from the lightening.
Anything that you do other than darkening your hair will unfortunately result in some dryness at least. You just have to decide what look you'll be happy with.
Best of luck to you.
