Hairstyling - corrective color

Question
Hi,

I used Schwarzkopf igora royal 6-4 with 10 volume developer on roots and just below. For some reason it turned out darker than usual and is covering the highlights, plus the color itself pulled coppery and dark.

It's been a week and I have shampooed each day without much lightening. Should I go for corrective color or give it more time? Since it should be deposit-only with that volume developer, will it just wash out eventually?

Thank you,

Simi

Answer
Hiya Simi,

If you went to a salon for the original service, go back to the salon to have it fixed. You are correct, 10 vol should be deposit but you can get a wee bit of lift even with 10, which would explain the copper tinge you are seeing.

It will probably lighten a bit but if the color is not what you expected and assuming the same color formula has been successful in the past, I would still have your stylist look at it and try to figure out why it came out differently.

Either way, if you do anything other than shampoo at home to get it to fade a bit, the salon is not obligated to do anything about it. So. call the salon right away and get in there so your stylist can see it.

Good luck,

dana
