Question
I went natural 5 years ago. I have type 3 curly hair. I use a good shampoo, conditioner, and an activator/moistureizer. What precautions should I take before texturizing (how long after a shampoo)? How do I care for texturized hair?

Answer
Wilma,
First of all, I would hope that you'll be having the texturizer done professionally. As with any chemicals ervice like this, the hair should not be freshly shampooed, as natural oils and the natural acid mantle of the scalp help sheild it from the chemicals. So give it a few days, and basing is not a bad idea if you are sensitive.
The after care is the same as for a relaxer, as it's chemically the same service, only not fully straightened.
Best of luck to you.
