Question
I feel like I'm in a style rut and I'm trying to find a new look. My husband hasn't seen me in a while (army) and I want to surprise him with something new and fun.I've been dieting and lost 25 pounds so I really want to suprise him with the new me. I'm not thinking bleach blonde or anything but I'm thinking about going lighter somehow. If you have any style suggestions that would be great too. I have medium to think hair and it is so boring right now. I'll put a link to some pictures on here as well, but my hair is a little bit longer than it is in these pictures. I'm meeting with a stylist on Friday and would love to have some ideas for her. Please help!
Thank you!
AnswerHiya Emily,
First and most important, thank your husband for me for being willing to serve his country and thank you for the sacrifices you make by being a military wife. My deepest respect and gratitude to you and your husband.
And, kudos and congratulations on the weight loss! It's going to make getting a new 'do all that much more fun too!
Ok, first, you can lighten the look of your hair in many ways. Color is only limited by imagination so if you can think it up, you can do it up. My first impulse is to suggest some thin, fine highlights just on the surface. It makes the overall look lighter and is easy to change if you decide you want to do something else. Redken has a color line called Shimmer One which I love to. It lifts your hair only one level. More of a brightening really but you can add any tone you choose which makes it great fun. And, it's name does not lie. It gives your hair a glassy shine better than anything I've ever used.
Now, as for the cut, I'm going to post some links to photos you may like but hairstyles are pretty esoteric. You want something versatile, that can be styled more than one way; something that suits your personality; and something that works well with your hair texture, density, how much time you have to work on it, etc. I'll show you some that will look good and you can go from there.
By the way, it would be great if you could take some pics to the stylist with you. Be sure to take some you like and some you don't like so he/she can get an idea of what you can do. She'll also need to know if you blow dry, air dry, use/hate product, etc. All this information will help the
stylist come up with something designed specifically for you.
The links are below. Good luck, have fun, congratulations and hug your hubby for me. :-)
