Question
k..i am going to cosmo school. i have a report due on platform artists. TOMORROW! i can't find anything on the net.. help if you can please!

Answer
Hi Anna:

Platform artists are those you see when you go to hairshows.   They are the educators on stage who demonstrate and show you how to cut new styles and also perform different color techniques.

Most times these artist work for the professional company like Sebastian, Wella, Goldwell, Paul Mitchell, etc. Some work full time, many part time besides their full time jobs.

I used to do some platform work. I was a color educated for many years.
If you are really interested in a wonderful career in cosmetology, this may be an area for you to consider.  All the companies have education/schools of their own that you attend and must pass their testing to be certified for that company. It is a fabulous path. You learn beyond your expectations and it is fun. With perserverance and time, you can become one of the leading platform artists in great demand and make considerable money.
Choose a company whose products you really like and contact them about their  programs for educators. You can have a goal for yourself.
Some platform artists started while in school entering contests.

Good luck.

Ellen
