Question
SIR, WOULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW THAT WHICH ARE BEST POSSIBLE SW RADIOS[BOTH PORTABLE AND DESK TOP] I LIKE TO LISTEN FAR AND FAINT SW RADIO STATIONS. THANKS INDEED.

Answer
Well, "Best" is a judgment call and depends on how much money you can spend.

I can offer you a few suggestions. Visit http://www.universal-radio.com/ and take a look around. Also visit http://www.grove-ent.com/shortwavereceivers.html

If you want a good portable, try the Sangean ATS-909. I use one every day.

The Grundig 750 should be released in a few days and should -- should -- be very good. It is also called the ETON 750 and is the same radio.

Among tabletops, the ICOM IC-R75 is about the best in the price range most people can afford.

But the very best? That's the TEN-TEC RX-340. It costs as much as an automobile or very nearly that much.
