Topic: Ham Radio

Subject: 6 Meter Propagation

Question
Hi!
What type of propagation can I expect on 6 meters under average
circumstances?  In other words, under normal conditions, would I be able to
communicate locally much farther than line of sight?
Thanks!

Answer
In general, no. Those frequencies bounce off the ionosphere only during solar storms or extremely high sunspot counts. The most likely time is during the summer, typically in the late afternoon, when skip conditions sometimes occur. Keep your ears open.
