Subject: block ham raido waves

Question
neighbor has a ham raido, when he uses it, I have a loud humm moving through my house, also my cordless phone cuts out, and causing headaches. do you have an idea how to block the waves comming into my house?

Answer
Well, no, that won't work but it sounds like your neighbor's transmitter is causing what are called "harmonics" on frequencies that are multiples of whatever he is using. If you get along with him, try talking to him. Most hams are very helpful and will do their very best to avoid your sorts of problems. I can't imagine what would cause the hum, though. Your power company should be able to help with that if it persists.
