Question Drive C is a raid 1 (mirror)volume and the windows installer was broken and I was advised to reformat. Instead of reformatting right away and to make sure that the data from Drive C was good, I slipped in a new drive J and installed all the programs and data. I want to ghost the new install from J to Drive C...but all the registry entries will refer to J not C....is there any easy way to fix this so I don't have to reinstall all over again to Drive C?
Answer Not too much experience with Raid by try this.
Go ahead and ghost J to C
Boot to windows (off J by choosing boot device)and right click my computer and choose manage. Scroll down to disk management. Change the drive letter J to something else and change c to J.
Reboot and all should be well I would think.
