Hard Drive Problems/can get new printer to be"located":

Question
Am trying to connect a new Epson cx8400 series printer to my Dell computer. Obviously, I don't know hardly anything about computers and have tried unsuccessfully , numerous times , installing the printer, seeing it with a check mark next to it on the control panel page ,but not being able to print anything. Keeps saying printer can not be located. All connections appear ok-just don't know what else to try. The local electronics store will diagnose the problem with the tower (?)for $199. but don't know if this is worth it or to just buy another tower. Doesn't that affect all the programs that are already there? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello,

This is not a hard drive problem at all, But I can give you a small hint when installing a printer dont let windows install drivers it often miss lot of them, you need to install the printer driver from the CD that came with the printer then the printer will be working.
Again this is a software problem if installing drivers didnt work for you you must contact the correct experts for that issue
Thanks
