Question So as far as I know, there are only 5 boys in the same grade as Harry in Gryffindor. That equivolates to 10 kids per grade level, per house. So that would be about 70 kids per house and 280 kids in the school. That seems really small compared to how some of the movies look. Where do all the other wizarding children go to school besides Hogwarts. Thanks
Answer Hi Greg,
In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", Hogwarts hosts two other schools for the Tri-Wizard Tournament: Beauxbatons from France, and Durmstrang from an unnamed country (possibly Bulgaria). There are also allusions to schools in Africa, Brazil (Bill Weasley had a pen pal from this school) and the United States (such as the Salem Witches Institute). According to the Harry Potter Lexicon, each country has a maximum of two wizarding schools; however, Hogwarts is the only one in Britain.
