Question
hello about harry potter 5 i really didnt understand the prophecy and what was the state when the story ended and besides when dumbeldore was speaking to harry in the end end the story can you summerize the important stuff he said please please help thank you alex!

Answer
Let's see if I can help.
About 16 years ago, when Voldemort was in power, Dumbledor had gone to the Hog's Head Inn.  There, he interviewed Sibyll Trelawney for the post of Divination teacher.  He was about to tell her that he wasn't going to hire her when she fell into a trance (much like the one in book 3 Chr. 16) and said "The one with the power to kill Voldemort will be born soon.  He will be born to parents who have thrice defied him.  Be born at the end of July.  And Voldemort would mark him as his eqaul."  A spy for Voldemort overheard most of the prophecy except the part about marking him as his equal; the spy was thrown out of the inn partway through.
This means that the person who could kill Voldermort would be born in late July.  His parents who have had 3 prior confrontations with Voldemort.  These parts of the prophecy apply to both Harry and Neville.  But Voldemort marked Harry as his equal (Harry's scar) so therefore, Harry is the one who will kill Voldemort or be killed by him.
Hope I helped,
Alex
