There has been a lot of discussion about James Potter's youth and his looks; Lily, for hotly debated reasons, is not talked about or described nearly as much. She had long auburn hair and almond-shaped, bright green eyes, and a fiery temper to boot; however, normally she was a quiet and kind Hogwarts student, often helping others with their schoolwork. It has also never been mentioned what House Lily was in; most just assume it was Gryffindor as that was also James' House, but it has never been written.
That's the best I can do, I'm afraid; many people think that Lily has been kept slightly mysterious deliberately, as Lord Voldemort has already been quoted as saying he didn't want to kill Lily, only James and Harry ("Stand aside, you silly girl!"). Hope that helps a little.
