Subject: Who has a better chance?

Question
Is a student with a GPA of 4.0--or higher--have the better chance of getting in to medical school or a student with many hours of volunteer work? If it is the student with the volunteer work, what type(s) of volunteer program should the student be in?

Answer
I think GPA is more important, tho volunteer work helps too. Volunteering in a hospital emergency room can help you learn about the trouble patients have with ER's, as well as comfort the patients.

You could email the director of admissions at your favorite med school and ask that person.  The school's web site will usually give you the name and address of the director of admissions.  If not, email the Dean asking for the director of admissions' email address.
