Subject: Admission to HMS

Question
Hi, I'm a high school senior who's currently stuck in a dilemma between these two choices:

Yale and Wash U concurrent admission to their med school. Wash U's program is not binding, but I am still required to take the MCAT and maintain a fairly high GPA. In addition, I still have to go through the application process, even though I'm basically guaranteed admission to Wash U Med School.

If I go to Yale, then my goal would be Harvard Medical School. But considering how competitive Yale students are in general, do I stand a good chance of getting in to HMS in 4 years?  Or would it be easier to get in from a less competitive place like Wash U?

Please help! Thanks so much!

Answer
Sorry, I'm not sure which Wash U,  St. Louis or Seattle?  Either one is excellent in it's medical school.  I don't know how good St Louis is in college.  Seattle is escellent.  And I don't know the answer about Yale vs. Wash U. in getting in to Harvard Med School.  You could ask the dean of admissions at HMS.  Address is
http://hms.harvard.edu/hms/home.asp, then look for dean of admissions.  Congratulations on your high aims, and good success in meeting them.
