Question My husband and i are planning our honeymoon, we fly into Kauai, but need to get to Maui for a wedding. I have looked into some flights but they are all over $100.00 a person. Are there any cheaper flights or private pilots you can recommend? Please help.
Answer Aloha Megan, if you are traveling during a peak time or looking for a direct flight, or specific flight times (or a last minute trip) it can cost that much, however the average price is about 50 - 60 dollars. If you are flexible with your times you should be able to get it cheaper than 100.00. keep in mind most inter-island flights go through Honolulu, it's sort of our "hub" here in the islands. Trying to get a private charter will cost you a lot more so that's not even a option. Hope that helps, please let me know if I can be of any more assistance to you. we did a podcast about this subject which you may find interesting http://www.hawaii-aloha.com/blog/2007/08/29/traveling-between-the-islands/
