Subject: places to stay and do for kids

Question
My husband and I will be on vacation in Hawaii in Feb. 2009. We will be here at the Waikoloa Hilton for 7 days. After that we will be having my parents and three children ages then will be 12 boy 10 boy 8 girl.  We are trying to find a place to stay for all of us and get a plan set so that we can say this day we will do this and that and so on.  I don't know what island will have the most for us to do and make everyone happy but not to expensive since we will already have been there the week before, on business/pleasure. Thank you for any input you have on this.

Answer
Aloha Tonia,
Here I am finally!
O'ahu is definitely the island that has the most to offer for kids. we have the zoo, the aquarium, a big waterpark, a kids museum and of course beautiful beaches and parks like all our islands.
If you stay on the Big Island, the Waikoloa where you are already staying has one pool for kids and another one with ropes and slides ( looks like a pirate's ship. You can also swim with the dolphins and rent water equipment such as water rafts etc.
Even if you don't stay at the Waikoloa Resort, you can do these activities
for a daily fee.
You can also drive to Hilo and visit the National Volcanoes Park and there is a ranch with horses in the North ( Parker Ranch in Waimea ).
Now as for accommodations there are many places that have houses for rent where your whole party could stay.
Check out the Visitors Bureau website they have plenty reliable places and you can also try to contact the hotel itself because often they work with other places. For instance the Waikoloa has many houses around that are vacation rentals, from little cottages to huge villas.
Let me know of you need any additional help
