AboutMalia Expertise Aloha,
I can answer I would say about 99 % of all questions relating to Hawai`i.
Experience I work for tour agencies as a tour guide so have a wonderful island experience especially from the view of travelers and newcomers to the islands. I am also a high school language teacher.
ANSWER: Aloha,
I am not sure but there is a military camp near that area and it is restricted.
It could be part of that camp.
By the way: strange question I thought. Why you want to know?

QUESTION: Mahalo! I spend a couple of hours a day searching for a home on the Big Island. I've visited 10 times over the past 17 years. I locate each home for sale on Google Earth and evaluate it in terms of geological stability, lol, elevation and view. The structures caught my eye and I wondered if they were missile silos or some such sinister thing. I think Hawaii should be left alone by government warriors, etc. Mahalo nui loa. Kat
Answer Aloha Kat,
WOW I hope you find a home here then :-) since you like it so much.
No missiles here, but lots of military.
Some of the structures date from WWII even, so this could be an old thing.
Looks almost like a helicopter platform but then of course it would be from maybe the 60's or 70's.
Good luck on you finding a home in our paradise :-)

PS: and mahalo for the kind feedback
