Hawaii - Weather in January

Expert: Malia - 10/5/2008

Question
My "other half" is in the reserves, and oming back from active duty in January.  We are planning a trip, and I am planning an engagement, to Hawaii the last week of January through the 2nd of February.  We will be staying near Pearl Harbor, but will have a car the entire trip.  I am concerned about the weather, knowing that it is more wet that time of year.  Should I be concerned about the weather?

Answer
Aloha,
Our temperatures don't vary much, in January it's pretty much 75F during the day and at night it goes down to 70 F sometimes 66 F at the most, especially in or around Honolulu.
It can however get rainy, we've had Januarys with 2 days of rain or as much as 2 weeks, so there you never know it advance.
However the rain won't last all day, the sun always comes out, even in "winter".
So you don't have to be very concerned about the weather, especially considering that the rest of the country will be freezing by then.
Hope this helps.
