Question Hi - My husband and I are travelling to Hawaii in January 2009. The dates are 18th (landing at 4:00 pm) through 27 (leaving early morning). We can land either in Maui or Ohau and leave from the other. What do you suggest that our iterinery be? We want to definitely do Ohau and Maui...can we also do one more island?
Something about us: we like relaxed vacations but at the same time so not want to overstay at one location so that it gets boring.
Please suggest what would you think would be the ideal break-up of these dates.
Thanks in advance for your help and advise.
Answer Hello Bhawna,
I would recommend you stay on Oahu for 3 full days and the rest of your time on Maui. Oahu has some fun and relaxing things to do on the west and north shores of the island (snorkeling, Polynesian Cultural Center), and Maui is a large and varied island with tons of natural attractions and awesome beaches. If you are looking for a relaxed pace, I would not recommend seeing a third in the time you have allotted. You would not get the relaxed feeling you are looking for. Plus, Maui is such a diverse island, you will find plenty to keep you interested there.
