Hawaii - Ferry between islands

Expert: Malia - 8/13/2008

Question
We will fly to Kauai and then go to Molokai for 5 days, and then need to get back to Honolulu. Is their a ferry between these two islands: Kauai to Molokai;  Molokai to Honolulu?  Or any other suggestions?
Thank you

Answer
Aloha,
Right now the only ferry is between Maui and Honolulu and later that same ferry, called Superferry will also have service between the Big Island and Honolulu.
However there is no ferry service between the other islands. There is a small boat service between Maui, Lanai and Molokai but from Kauai to Molokai and then to Honolulu your only option is flying. You can take Hawaiian Airlines or Island Air (goes to Molokai).
There are plenty flights every day so you can choose which one suits you the best.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
