Hawaii - hawaiian airlines prices

Expert: Malia - 1/22/2009

Question
I am planning a weeklong trip from Oakland to Hawaii beginning around June 20, 2009. Current round trip prices are $480. I was told prices fluctuate daily. What are the chances of the prices going down within the next week or so? I was hoping to get round trip for around $350 each.

Answer
Aloha Jon,
If I knew the answer to that question, I would buy 100 tickets and resell them again.
So the simple answer is: I don't know.
Right now with the economy yes prices may drop, however I cannot guarantee that, especially with Obama now being our President, people want to come to Hawaii and see where he grew up so a lot of people come to visit our beautiful state.
$ 480 is actually not a bad price at all from the West Coast, price have been $ 500 or even $ 600.
You may also fly standby which is usually cheaper.
Sorry I can't help you more but check out the local airlines on a daily basis to see price fluctuations: Hawaiian Airlines, Go! and Mokulele Airways.
