Question
Hi Bruce -

My husband and I are celebrating our ten year anniversary and are planning to travel to The Big Island of Hawaii in October. Two questions for you: Is October (mid to end) an okay time to travel there and once we get there - where/what part of the island should we stay? We are planning a week to ten day trip.
Any advice you have would be appreciated!
Many thanks.

Answer
first off, congratulations on your anniversary Hawaii is a great choice to celebrate.  October is usually a great time to come to Hawaii because the prices are a little better and it's off-season.  The weather year-round is great but little bit warmer in October.  He definitely should stay on the Kona side of the island I suggest the Waikaloa area.  Since you have 10 days you may want to consider going to another island as well.

I hope that helps you out we will also be talking about this on our podcast http://www.hawaii-aloha.com/podcast check out episode 303.
