Hawaii/Visiting other Islands from Big Island

Question
Hi,
We visited Big island a few years ag and thought it so wonderful that we want to come back again for a holiday. This time we would like to see some of the other islands, and we first thought about a cruise. All cruises seem to start in Honolulu, and spend a couple of days in Big Island, whereas we want to start and finish in Big Island.
If a cruise is not available, is it possible to travel betwen the islands by ferry/air, spending a day on one or more of the other islands?

Thanks in advance,

Mel

Answer
Aloha,
Yes all cruises start and end in Honolulu.
You can fly in between islands, there are lots of planes every day that fly in between. Check our 2 main airlines Hawaiian Airlines and Go! Airlines.
There is also a ferry called Superferry but only between Honolulu and Maui.
You can also take a tour for one day where you can fly, then do the tour, and then come back and they come and pick you up at your hotel and drop you off there too again.
Blue Hawaii Helicopters have a tour but of course first you have to fly by plane to the Big Island and then you can take the heli tour.
Hope this helps.
Let me know if I can help you with anything more.

I work for tour agencies as a tour guide so have a wonderful island experience especially from the view of travelers and newcomers to the islands. I am also a high school language teacher.
