AboutMalia Expertise Aloha,
I can answer I would say about 99 % of all questions relating to Hawai`i.
Experience I work for tour agencies as a tour guide so have a wonderful island experience especially from the view of travelers and newcomers to the islands. I am also a high school language teacher.
Question My husband and I are thinking of a trip to Hawaii in December with our 1.5 year old.
My husband can swim, I and my toddler cannot. I am not very fond of any adventure sports. I am not sure how my toddler will react to water and any sports.
We are vegetarians, do not eat egg or any meat or any seafood.
What kind of activities can we expect?
What can we plan for vacation?
Answer Aloha,
Everyone in Hawaii loves kids and most hotels have pools for little ones. You can start with that and then maybe later try the shallow waters of Waikiki. Right now the water is calm on the South shores (in the summer). For outdoor other than pool, there are many places to visit such as the zoo, the Waikiki aquarium, then there is the Discovery Museum (a children museum). In Waikiki there are also fun restaurants for kids like California Pizza Kitchen and Cheeseburger in Paradise. We also have many playgrounds in all the parks and all are safe to play and run around. You can also rent bikes.
What island are you visiting? More than one?
As for food, we have "Whole Foods" and "Down to Earth" here who feature daily vegetarian and even vegan menus and almost every place has some vegetarian dish.
