Question
We (5 of us) want to meet our son in Oahu before Christmas. Would like to stay in Oahu about a week and the Big Island for a week.  Preferably a place with a kitchen.  Any ideas!

Answer
Aloha,
First of all it all depends on the price you are willing to pay.
You can get ocean front properties, houses, condos, all included, but then you can also get hotel rooms with a kitchenette included.
On Oahu in Waikiki you have for example the Waikiki Banyan which has kitchens in all rooms.
Other than that on Oahu you may want to stay on the North Shore where they have bungalows that are part of the Turtle Bay Resort.
As for Hawaii, you have to check which side you want to be on.
Kona or Hilo side.
In Hilo in the Volcano National Park you can get a little cottage in the Volcano House, then in Kona itself there are a gazillion little places to stay too and you have to find out which ones have kitchens.
Check also the Hawaii Visitors Bureau website.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Malia
