Subject: Need to know what a name means

Question
When I was pregnant my husband and I were trying to come up with baby manes. If the baby was a boy he would be named after my husband, and if the baby was a girl we came up with the name Lahana, which is a little bit of a combo of my husbands name and mine. My husband is mixed with Korean and Hana in Korean means one. I see the word Hana being used a lot in Hawaii and I was wondering what it meant? Our daughter is now 9 months and people always think her name is Hawaiian. Does Lahana have a meaning in Hawaiian?

Answer
Aloha,
In Hawaiian "La" means sun or day.
For example "Lapule" means Sunday.
"Hana" means work, for example " pau hana" after work.
La'ahana is the patron goddess of tapa ( a type of bark or cloth ) making and also means work dedicated.
Soin a way the name is a bit of Hawaiian.
Hope this helps.
It is a beautiful name :-)
