Yes the weather in April can be strange, actually from Feb to Apr it can be sunny and then again very rainy.
But it can also be sunny the whole time. Si if you come at that time, you never know. Our "safest summer months" are now, June, Jul, Aug and Sept.
But a whole week of rain is rare, even in Feb, Mar and Apr.
So I would just plan your trip for Apr even though the weather is less stable then.
Because you must have really have bad luck, 2 years ago.
