Subject: flowers for funeral at Punchbowl

Question
What florist do you recommend for a funeral at Punchbowl?  Are there certain restrictions on floral arrangements at the National Cemetery in Punchbowl?  Is it customary to give a lei to the decedents survivors?

Answer
Aloha,
Sorry for the late reply, I had family in town.
There are no flower restrictions, most people choose local flowers because we are so blessed to have many native ones. Chinese don't use any red flowers, because the color red symbolizes life.
As for leis, yes you can give a lei as a sign of aloha, love and sympathy.
As for a florist, Punchbowl is close to Chinatown and on Maunakea Street there are several florists that are cheap and have more choice.
